Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm

There are some products that are so special I just cannot help but to rave about them. This balm cleanser by Emma Hardie is one of those products.

I first discovered this cleanser about a year ago thanks to all of the hype it has received in the beauty industry and I truly believe that I will never stop using it. This is great for all skin types especially those who have very dry skin or are acne prone (please do not use stripping gel cleansers if you have this type of skin!). It is so hydrating and even doubles up as a soothing mask and as a rescue balm on any part of the body. This makes it perfect during the winter months as it will never give you that frustrating tight and stripped feeling. I personally have acne prone, oily skin and this has completely changed its appearance; it is brighter and my blemishes are reduced.

If you wear a lot of makeup this will be your best friend as it removes every last speck from your face at the end of the day. I have tried many other balm cleansers that claim to do this, including the more expensive Elemis Pro-Collagen choice but none of them truly removed all of my makeup. I was always left disappointed once I swept my toner over my face and there was still foundation on my cotton pad...until I tried this.

There are so many luxurious ingredients that make up this balm, including a plethora of essential oils such as grape seed oil; sweet almond oil, sunflower seed oil and bitter orange flower oil. It contains moringa seeds, wild sea fennel and vitamin E which balance, purify and minimise the appearance of pores. As if that isn't enough, there is also Orange, Neroli and Mandarin extracts with Jasmin and Rose to revitalise dull, dry and dehydrated skin. All of these ingredients mixed together create the most heavenly fragrance, it is so spa like and as you smooth this onto your face you can't help but to relax. This makes it perfect for use as a night time cleanser and this is when I tend to apply it.

The texture is a balm as the name suggests but as you smooth this onto your face it turns into an oil so you need just a very small amount to cover your entire face and neck. Therefore, although you only get 100ml/3.38fl.oz of product, it will last such a long time. Mine is still going strong and I have been using it since May (around 5 months). The great thing about this texture is that you can give your face a massage during application, not like a gel or a milk. Another bonus is that you have to use water to remove it which provides a much more thorough cleanse than simply smearing a cleansing wipe over the face and calling it a night (although I am sure we are all guilty of doing that every now and again).

There are a few different ways of applying a balm cleanser to the face (remember that it is important to apply this to a dry face in order to reap the benefits, if applied to a wet face it will turn into a milk and will not deeply cleanse the skin):

1) Some like to smear this all over their face full of makeup when it is dry and then use a face cloth run under warm water to wipe the product away. I would suggest cleansing the face twice if you like to use this method of application as the first time you apply the product it is only removing your makeup and it is important to cleanse the skin underneath too.

2) Another method is to apply this to your face as above (over makeup on a dry face) and then wet a clarisonic underneath some warm water and use this to remove the balm. Many people like to couple a clarisonic with a foaming cleanser but this will completely dry your skin out if done regularly and using a balm provides a very thorough cleanse.

3) The method I personally prefer is to remove my makeup with a micellar water (I like the one by L'Oréal) with a cotton pad before applying this balm to my face once dry. I then run a face cloth under warm water and use this to remove the dirt and grime from the day.

It is worth noting that this is perfectly safe to use over the eyes and will work wonders at removing even the most stubborn water proof mascara!

The only down side to this product is the packaging. While it is lovely to look at, it is not exactly travel friendly as the lid twists off easily in the suitcase. In addition, the fact that it comes in a tub means it can be quite unhygienic and I would recommend washing your hands before application or using a cosmetic cotton bud to remove the product from the pot.

This product is available from all Space NK retailers or through websites such as feelunique.com and is priced at around £34 (depending on where you purchase it).
